Georgia State Unveils New... August 23 - A Block Party for all GSU students was held at Hurt Park on Sunday afternoon and the athetics teams were out in full force to meet and greet their fellow students.
The party included a chance to get autographs and take pictures with all the fall sports teams, including the new football team. The men's soccer team, volleyball team and cross country teams were all on hand to sign. Women's soccer was on the road, earning a 3-2 overtime win over Jacksonville State and were not able to attend.
Southeast Staging provided the sound as the crown of hundreds chanted cheers and partied to the sounds of DJ Phase! Several news crews were on hand to record this historical event. GSU's cheerleaders joined the team for a welcome cheer and Director of Athletics Cheryl L. Levick reminded all the new students that all the games this fall are free with the valid student ID, including the inaugural football game in school history on Thursday, Sept. 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the Georgia Dome.
